Oil mist is aerosol consisting of the fines of oil and/or lubricant coolant. It is formed in the course of operation of lathes, turn milling machines and other machine tools where lubricant and cutting coolants are used. Such oil mist appears in the course of operation of electric discharge machines, oil quenching and other technological processes.

Presence of oil mist and vapor of lubricant coolants in the workspace results in the following negative consequences:

• oil mist is hazardous for health, when inhaled it is accumulated in the lungs and respiratory system. Together with this, oil mist has specific unpleasant odour;
• oil particles settle on different surfaces including windows and walls , forming the oily film on which dirt is accumulated. This process is especially intensive in the ventilation and conditioning systems. All this entails additional expenses ;
• accumulation of oily dirt on different surfaces (machine tools, conditioning system, control circuits, etc.) results in early wear , failure and breakdown of the equipment ;
• accumulation of oil and dust on the equipment in the air duct system often causes accidental fire;
• the supervisory bodied monitor content of oil vapors in the air and oil accumulation in the ventilation components and on other surfaces and in case of the increased content may take strict measures

Duct mounted oil-mist filter comprises mechanical separators in metal casing. The filters may be used separately combined with additional fan or may be included into the existing air duct system.

OPERATION PRINCIPLE:

The device is used for air cleaning. The air in sequence passes through the filtration elements, so that oil mist particles, water and other mechanical admixtures are removed. There is a drainage tray in the lower part of the filter casing , oil and lubricant coolant are accumulated in it. The design provides for a drain valve and oil level indicator. The casing has doors to allow for prompt access to the filters. The filtration elements are easily removed, made from stainless steel and do not require replacement. If necessary they may be washed. We made it possible to attach the air ducts using the flanged joint .
